Ownership of Files
When your employee saves their work in their free Gmail account, they will be the owner of the files and documents they create.
For security reasons we recommend you ask them to transfer ownership to you.
If your email address is on your company domain (e.g. email@example.com), your employee will not be able to transfer the ownership as Google only allows transfer of ownership between accounts on the same domain.
Since your employee is using a free Google Drive account, you must have a free Gmail account (@gmail.com email address) for him or her to be able to transfer the ownership of files to you.
If you have a free Gmail account, proceed to the next step.
If not, first create a free Gmail account then proceed to the next step.
